What 100% actually means in RDR2
Most RDR2 guides that call themselves a 100% checklist list the collectibles and stop. Collectibles are 90 of the 539 things on this page. The other 449 are missions, activities, compendium entries and one-off tasks that count for exactly as much and are far easier to leave undone by accident.
This page is the whole list. Every row is one requirement, with how many of it you need and a link through to the full locations where this site has them. Tick a row and it stays ticked — progress lives in your own browser, shared with every other page here, and it is never sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How many things do you need for 100% in RDR2?
539 individually. That breaks down as 90 required collectibles across 6 types, and 449 missions, activities, compendium entries and one-off tasks. Anything the game treats as optional is left off this list rather than padded into it.
Does every collectible count toward 100%?
No, and this is the most common way people waste an evening. Some types need only a fraction of what exists — and some do not count at all. Each row here shows the number actually required, not the number in the world, and a type that counts for nothing is not on the list.
Why does this percentage not match the one in my game?
Because they measure different things. The game's own counter gives every task on its tally equal weight, so finding all 50 letter scraps moves it by exactly as much as taking one bath. This page weights each requirement by how many of the thing you actually have to do, which is the number that tells you how much play is left. Neither is wrong; they answer different questions.
Is my progress saved, and does it sync with the other pages?
Yes, both ways. Ticks are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device, with no account and no server. A collectible ticked on its own locations page shows up here immediately, and the reverse, in the same tab or another one.
Can I do this after finishing the story?
Almost all of it, yes — the collectibles and most activities stay available after the credits. A handful of side questlines can be missed permanently once the story moves past them, and where that is true this page says so on the row itself.
