About legendary animals in RDR2

Legendary Animals are 16 unique, named creatures — among them the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear, Legendary White Bison, Legendary Wolf and Legendary Bullgator — each far larger and tougher than a normal specimen of its species. The first becomes available during a Chapter 2 story mission with Hosea, after which the rest can be hunted freely in any order. Every legendary animal drops a pristine pelt regardless of how it is killed or how it is skinned, and that pelt is taken to the Trapper in Saint Denis or Wapiti, where it can be crafted into a piece of a matching outfit.
