Legendary Fish are 13 outsized, uniquely named fish spread across the map's lakes, rivers and swamps, each tied to Jeremy Gill's stranger mission "A Fisher of Fish". Every legendary fish needs the right bait, lure and rod for its species and location, and most put up a genuine fight once hooked. Once caught, a legendary fish is mailed to Gill from any post office rather than delivered by hand, and he sends rewards at milestones along the way — a Lake Lure after your first fish, and cash plus fish meat once you have mailed ten. Mailing all 13 triggers a wait of about a day for Gill's invitation to arrive, after which a final cinematic mission sends you into New Austin to catch the mythical 14th fish, the Legendary Channel Catfish, unlocking the Special Spinner Lure.
